Hooray for Dad's vacation! Even though we had nothing planned or any idea what the weather would be like, we still managed to have a GREAT vacation with Dad this year.
There were plenty of water sports!
All the boys went on the wave runner.
There were quite a few boat rides, and even a boat picnic. Who knew PB&J and Doritos could be so messy?!!? Sorry if we left any little fingerprints Grandpa!
Funny story...the whole time we were on vacation we kept talking about Jenkinson's Aquarium. Joseph was SO excited to go. It was all he talked about. The weather was kind of overcast and we were beached out so FINALLY we decide to head over to Pt. Pleasant. Well, as we pull up the to Aquarium Joseph starts screaming with excitement, "I see it! I see it! That must be the beequarium!". As we looked out the car window we saw the boardwalk with all of the kiddie rides. We didn't have the heart to tell him that we weren't going there and that we were going to look at some fish through glass windows. Needless to say we spent the next two hours drenched in sweat as Joseph beamed with joy doing just what he thought he came to do...ride the rides!!! Maybe we'll catch the "beequarium" next summer.
I"m sure you are wondering about Thomas. I didn't make a mistake above when I wrote about just Joseph riding the rides. Thomas tried the motorcycles and the merry go round. Both had to be stopped immediately to let him off because he was so terribly upset once the ride started moving. We thought for sure this truck was a home run...no hills, no up and down, brother sitting right next to him, and Dad sitting in the back seat. Sounds perfect, right? The picture below was taken as all of the children were loading in and getting seat belted up. The smile on Thomas's face lasted about 3 seconds once the truck started moving. He climbed out of the seat belt, through the back window, and into Dad's lap faster than he moves to get to his chair at meal time....and all of you who have seen him eat know just how fast he saddles up for a meal!
There were friends who's company we've missed dearly...
and beautiful sunsets that can only be seen at the beach.
There were lots of smiles...
and silly dance moves.
And lots of time at Mom's favorite spot in the whole world...
THE SUNNY, SUNNY, BEAUTIFUL BEACH!
The best part- Dad was there too! It was the best week of our whole summer. Oh, and if anyone needs to get in touch with Joseph he now prefers to be called "captain" or "wave runner".
